First, before I get sidetracked, if you follow along I’m sure you came across the Amber Alert that California issued last week. I had contacted a few people whose blogs I follow to see if they could spread the word to get others involved. For not only prayer for those kids, but also to keep their eyes peeled.
Well, I’m happy to report that the teenage girl was found safe this weekend. Horseback riders spotted her and her kidnapper in the Idaho wilderness, but were unaware of the amber alert. Once they realized, they contacted the police which lead them to finding Hannah. Her kidnapper was killed by authorities, but she is now safe with family. Tragically, it has been said that the missing boy was identified in the house fire that the mother of the kids were found. Prayers continue to go out to the family.

In other (and happier) news, we got invited to an ice cream party this weekend! I promise I’ll start using my real camera again soon and not my phone. I need to make a mental note of that, but sometimes after loading up the kids and making sure everyone is belted in, along with patting myself on that back for not forgetting the diaper bag (I did that once and that’s a story for another day). I’m just proud of myself for have gotten that far. For you mama’s out there who have more than two kids, I salute you.
Okay, see what I mean? I tend to get sidetracked easily. Anyway, an ice cream party! We enjoyed homemade vanilla bean and chocolate ice cream. Guys, homemade slams down on store bought ice cream and I realized I really need to invest in an ice cream maker pronto. The girls had a variety of toppings to choose from and Ava piled hers to the rim. Apparently, everything in her eyes really needed to be atop.
