Then, there’s this guy.
Waking up next to him every morning makes my heart calm. It makes my heart happy, and it gives my whole being a sense of peace. There is truly nobody like this man, I’ve never met anyone like him before.
He is my husband, and the Father to my kids, and I hate to sound cliche, but he really is my best friend. Ever since the beginning he’s helped me through life and it’s struggles, even before we loved each other. We had nothing more than a true friendship that was reserved, and respected. We spent our days together with friends and enjoying ones company. He was my friend, we loved one another but not in the way we do today.
I’ll never forget the day he told me his heart and how he felt about me. You know, those feelings that are a little more than ‘just a friend.’ We both wanted the same, and there was something special there that we knew couldn’t be broken. I knew then, this was it. He was the one I was going to spend my forever with.
Today, we have been married almost three years, and we have a total of nine years of blissful friendship. He is someone who I look up to every day as inspiration to be a better person. He is always my shoulder to cry on when times are hard, or the one I turn to when emotions are running wild and I need someone to vent to. He’s the one who I know will FOEVER love me, stand by my side and not judge me for who I am. He will always appreciate what I do as a wife and mother and he will always thank me for doing my best. He lifts my spirits, he strives to be a better husband. His hugs are genuine, his kisses too. He looks into my eyes and I know that there is no other person he’d rather have made this commitment of marriage to. He makes that clear.
Most importantly, today marks a day where he should undoubtedly be acknowledged. I’d prefer to keep some of our story private, but those who know us personally know that four years ago Tyler took on a life long journey requiring an immense amount of responsibility. During this journey so far he has proved that a person is capable of completely changing their life for the person they love, and he has done a damn good job at it if I do say so myself.
As a Father to my kids, and my husband, I want you to know Mr. Riley if you are reading this, that I’m thankful for you. Thank you for being the best da da in my eyes, and for loving us. Thank you for taking care of your family, and being the man I’ve always dreamt of having as a husband. Thank you for providing, for caring, for nurturing, for teaching, and for always, always, always understanding. Thank you for being you, and for never looking back on your decision to make me the lucky lady to be your wife. I’m a blessed woman, and entirely grateful for everything I’ve been given. I will make it a commitment to be the best wife I can be, and the mother to your children that you’ve always wanted. You’re my world, and my light, and you shine down on me and give me life. I love you so, so, so very much.
